Courses for the students of Central Ostrobothnia Conservatory

Would you like to become familiar with singing in a choir and learn how to make music with other people? Or are you interested in playing in a band or dancing? These courses might be just for you.

Centria Choir 4 cr

The student becomes familiar with singing in a choir and has an understanding of making music with other people.

– learning vocal technique, breathing and singing harmonies

– The choir will sing mainly 2- and 3-part harmonies, focus on contemporary rhythm music and Christmas Carols during the autumn semester

Choir will rehearse once a week (on Mondays 18.30-20.30 Yläsali in conservatory), in addition to small groups and personal practice. The choir will perfom at least once per semester.

Centria Band 4 cr

The student becomes familiar with playing in a band and has an understanding of making music with other people.

Study content:
– Learning to play various band instruments and rehearsing for a performance.

Band will rehearse once a week (on Wednesdays 10-11 classroom 033F Centria UAS, Talonpojankatu 2 Kokkola), in addition to small groups and personal practice. The band will perfom at least once per semester.

Centria Dance 4 cr

Come join Centria Dance on Tuesdays @5-6 p.m.

The lessons take place in the Great Lecture Hall (Centria UAS, Talonpojankatu 2 Kokkola). The first lesson is on September 20^th.

The lessons include warm-up, stretching, and dance styles like Street Dance Hip Hop, and Commercial. Come in comfortable clothes and shoes.
