This training session offers a practical introduction to large-scale 3D printing using bio-based materials, with a focus on real-world applications in construction and manufacturing. The session brings together experts from the BIO-2-PRINT project to share insights into technologies, materials, and processes that support the transition towards more sustainable and resource-efficient production.

The programme begins with short expert presentations covering key aspects of large-scale additive manufacturing, including the use of bio-based and recycled materials as feedstock. Participants will gain an overview of how underutilised natural fibres can be transformed into high-value materials for industrial use, supporting the shift from linear to circular value chains.

The session continues with a live demonstration of robot-assisted material extrusion (FGF) 3D printing. During the demonstration, participants will see the process from printing to post-processing, providing a concrete understanding of how large-scale components are produced in practice.

The training is aimed at companies, researchers, and other stakeholders interested in adopting new manufacturing methods, developing sustainable materials, and strengthening regional value chains.

This event is a part of BIO-2-PRINT, a Interreg Northern Periphery and Arctic funded project, that builds a value chains for underutilized natural fibres as feedstock in 3D printing.
