Study opportunities for Ukrainians

In response to the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Ukraine, Centria University of Applied Sciences offers services and study opportunities for Ukrainians.

Finnish higher education

The Finnish higher education system consists of universities and universities of applied sciences.

Universities of applied sciences (UAS for short) offer professionally oriented higher education on bachelor’s and master’s levels and have strong ties with working life and regional development. According to our name Centria University of Applied Sciences, we are one of the 24 UASs in Finland.

Open UAS studies

The course offerings of our Open UAS is prepared so that the studies are free of charge for Ukrainians. UAS also offers Finnish and English language studies online.

Individual online courses at Averko

Averko offers everyone the opportunity for flexible online studies at Centria UAS. The study selection for autumn 2022 will be published by 23 June. You can participate in an online course from any corner of the world. We have done our best to make the online studies as meaningful as possible. The start date and duration of the studies have been specified, but you can complete many course units quicker if your wish.

Path Studies

Open UAS path studies are a pathway to degree studies. If students complete at least 45 credits of studies consistent with the objectives of their chosen degree programme, they will be eligible for admission to Centria University of Applied Sciences. Students can then apply to become a degree student through a separate admission process. Pathway studies are free of charge.

You can find the application form for path studies and other available studies here.

Separate study right for students of Ukrainian universities

Centria UAS can grant separate study rights in certain bachelor’s degree programmes to Ukrainian degree students. This study opportunity is aimed at students who have an existing, valid right to study at a Ukrainian university, and whose studies have been discontinued due to the war in Ukraine. These students will get a grant based on the humanitarian ground so that they do not need to pay the tuition fees. Separate study rights will be granted based on the compatibility of applicants’ earlier studies with those offered by Centria UAS. Applicants must satisfy specific academic and language requirements.

The study right is primarily 2 years/120 ECTS and the studies will be individually implemented according to the student’s personal study plan (PSP) while taking into account the needs and objectives of the students. The studies are not degree studies but give the student the qualification to apply for degree student status in 2023. The studies are free of charge. Student selection for the individual study right is in the hands of the University of Applied Sciences.

You can find education, study options and application forms on Studyinfo.
