Sustainable development will be a critical factor defining competitiveness in the future. In addition, digitalization creates new opportunities for new entrepreneurship as well as for entrepreneurial renewal. The operating environment is becoming more international, and therefore companies have to be accustomed to work with stakeholders from different cultures. These trends will challenge education both in terms of content and method of implementation. The themes of sustainable development, digitalization and globalizing operating environment need to be integrated as part of the entrepreneurship education. By combining these themes into one model, it is attainable to achieve the goals of each of these themes by dividing them the manageable modules for different school levels. Goal-oriented and persistent work requires mutually agreed and documented goals to which all stakeholders are committed and willing to advance.

The content of each of the themes, sustainable development, digitalization and internationalization are concretized in the cooperation of the project teams, other training stakeholders and partners. Extensive participatory workshops will be organized during the project in order to agree on school level-specific objectives for each of the themes. The work is based on school level-specific curricula. As a result, the Northern Ostrobothnia’s Entrepreneurship Education strategy – The Youth will Make the Future – that was initially developed in the PoPYK project will be renewed into a new kind of entrepreneurship education model that contains the learning objectives of the themes sustainability, internationalization and digitalization. The model will outline the entrepreneurship education in the coming years and its implementation, considering the specific regional features. The project co-partners engage their organizations in to the development work to implement the results gained through it.
