Centria University of Applied Sciences performed well in a national comparison of universities of applied sciences in terms of student satisfaction. In the feedback collected from graduating students (AVOP student feedback questionnaire, preliminary data), Centria’s students rated their education as the best in Finland. Centria was ranked in the top three in as many as eleven out of twelve categories.

In particular, business students rated Centria as the best place to study, but students in other fields also rated their teaching among the best in the country. Students are particularly satisfied with Centria’s teaching, learning environments, working life connections, multiculturalism and student support services.

Students of Centria Master School were the most satisfied in the country, giving Centria an overall score of 6.1, with Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences in second place receiving an overall score of 5.9.

Centria has been among the top performers in feedback in several previous years.

– The feedback reflects the long-term development work for the benefit of students. Our personnel is professional and committed to teaching and guiding students towards a quality degree and working life, says Jari Isohanni, Director of Education at Centria.

In 2023, Centria UAS increased the number of degrees significantly compared to the national level. On average, amongst universities of applied sciences, the number of degrees increased by around 5% from the previous year, while Centria’s growth was 22%. Last year 625 students graduated from Centria, 114 more than in 2022. 92 students graduated with a Master’s degree, compared to 67 in 2022.

In the AVOP student feedback questionnaire, students evaluate and provide feedback at the graduation stage on the education they have received. Preliminary data for the 2023 survey have been published in the Vipunen statistics service maintained by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Finnish National Agency for Education. The results of the questionnaire will be used in the development of education and planning of activities both locally and nationally.
