Hack IT Green ONLINE hackathon
Come solve wicked real-life problems of companies, meet like-minded participants and compete for sustainable prizes!
The Hack IT Green hackathon brings together 5 companies with their challenges for participants of the event to solve together. Companies will introduce their problems and discuss with participants what they expect from the participants. Participants will then go through a structured ideation process during the hackathon to best solve the problems, hear inspirational speakers along the way and finally prepare to pitch their ideas to the companies.
The best groups will be selected by the companies to receive prizes, and the event organisers will award the overall best pitch and best idea. In total, seven groups will walk out of the online event with the glory of winning and physical prizes.
The Hackathon will span 3 days, following the schedule below:
Real-world problems participants will be solving:
- Natural cosmetics company in Finland
- Hospitality in Swedish Lapland
- Chemical-free cleaning products company from Finland
- Regional waste management in Finland
- Norwegian AI-powered research and writing platform
Participants are required to register for the event and select the top 3 cases they would like to solve during the event. Please register by the 15.3. 2026. You will be sent a link to the online event via Zoom the day before the event.
Centria University of Applied Sciences students will be able to earn 2 credits for taking part in the Hackathon event. Students from Lapland University of Applied Sciences or from the Seinäjoki region, don’t hesitate to get in touch with your own educational institution for information about earning credits.
