This is a walk-in discussion group where we only talk Finnish. Everyone is welcome – whether you are a beginner or already know Finnish. The discussion group gathers on Thursdays 24.9.–10.12.2026 at 17.30–19.00 in classroom 131 on Talonpojankatu Campus.
Can you play an instrument? The Centria Band course (4 credits) starts on Wednesday, September 16 at 10:30. Everyone who plays an instrument is welcome to join, regardless of which instrument you play. In the band, you will have the opportunity to practise and play music with other students in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Sign up for the course in Peppi using the course code YY00AE61-3007.
Looking for new experiences and interested in studying abroad? The additional application period for exchange studies starts next Monday. Exchange studies are part of your degree at Centria and will not extend your study time. They also offer an international dimension to your studies. During this application period, you can apply for an exchange for the spring semester of 2027. The additional application period is from 7 September to 25 September 2026.
The library will offer thesis kiosks for students at the library three times this autumn. If you need help with research for your thesis, citing sources, or the technical details of the thesis template, welcome to visit the library’s thesis kiosks.
Have you been involved in building a more international and community-oriented Centria? You can now apply for the Support Programme – Integration scholarship, which is worth 2,000 euros.
The KiVANET network will organize online courses in several different languages and in multilingual tandem learning in the autumn term of 2026. Enrollment time for courses is from 17 August to 13 September 2026.
We are looking for enthusiastic Centria students who are in the final stages of their studies to join the Centria Trainee Program! The trainee period starts in september and lasts for 3 months, with a weekly working time of 29 hours. The program supports professional development, strengthens working-life skills, and provides a valuable employment certificate for future job applications.

The Globalink Research Internship, which provides a 12-week research project at Canadian universities for high-achieving undergraduate or combined undergraduate/master’s program students from around the world, is accepting student applications starting in early August 2026.
For many students, working as an RDI student assistant is an eye-opener to the possibilities of research, development, and innovation activities. At its best, it also serves as a pathway to a career in their field. Many current Centria employees began their careers at Centria as RDI student assistants, got to know the teams and projects while still studying, and then found employment in RDI activities. In this article, they share their own experiences: what kind of tasks the practical training involved, what they learned along the way, and what it has been like to transition from student to colleague.
