The goal of the project is to address regional challenges in biomethane production by identifying cost-efficient production solutions, assessing financing options, developing logistics and promoting the establishment of a biomethane reception terminal in the KIP industrial area. This will strengthen the region’s cooperation, energy self-sufficiency, security of supply, and climate objectives.

As a result, project’s target group, farms, SMEs and energy companies will gain concrete tools for planning investments and region’s expertise in biomethane production increases. The project develops KIP-area’s biogas sector by emerging new business opportunities, advancing competitiveness and Central Ostrobothnia region’s transition toward carbon-neutral energy system.
