Region: North Ostrobothnia
Financed by: European Structural and Investment Funds – Just Transition Fund (JTF), through the Economic Development Centre in Northern Finland
Project Manager: Jyri Mäkellä
The aim of the project is to improve employment opportunities for unemployed young people in rural and remote regions by creating a practical and individualized pathway to employment. The project takes into account participants’ existing skills, interests, and support needs, and designs personalized learning paths that respond to the real needs of local businesses.
Companies’ skills needs are identified through close collaboration, and young people are offered development tasks that are closely connected to working life. The project focuses in particular on the digitalization of logistics, the green transition, and support for entrepreneurship. Special attention is given to young people’s wellbeing, lifelong learning, and strengthening participation, in order to safeguard the vitality of rural areas and the availability of services in the future.
The project is implemented in cooperation with the University of Oulu and is coordinated by the University of Oulu.
