W2W‑Composites is a transnational project that helps actors in the Northern Periphery and Arctic regions transform underutilised biomass into high‑value, sustainable composite materials. By connecting research organisations, public authorities, SMEs, and innovation actors, the project strengthens the capacity to adopt bio‑based and recyclable composites in real‑world applications.
The project builds on the results of previous initiatives and brings together expertise in natural fibres, biopolymers, and additive manufacturing. Its aim is to develop practical tools for circular design. Key outputs include open‑access composite guidelines, a Joint Bio‑Composite Action Plan, and pilot demonstrations that show how regional bio‑resources—such as forestry and agricultural side streams—can be converted into innovative materials.
Through workshops, policy dialogue, and knowledge‑sharing platforms, the project supports the transition to a low‑carbon economy, sustainable public procurement, and long‑term regional resilience.
