Welcome to hear Centria’s Lied Seminar students perform gems of French and Spanish lied music. We will hear works by, among others, the following composers: Enrique Granados, Lili Boulanger and Maurice Ravel.

While Spanish song composers were inspired by folk music, the French wanted to distance themselves from it: they felt it was important to convey aesthetic experiences and avoid excessive sentimentality. Juho Alakärppä, who will also be sitting behind the piano at the concert, will be responsible for the musical direction.
