Developing student involvement at Centria University of Applied Sciences

Centria has launched a new Student Ambassador initiative. The ambassadors will support the EduExpo and recruitment team by sharing their personal experiences of life and studies at Centria and in Finland, giving prospective students a genuine insight into what to expect.

Centria has invited students to take an even more active role in supporting their peers throughout their study journey. New to our international activities, the Student Ambassadors support the EduExpo and student recruitment team in sharing what life at Centria, and in Finland, is really like. By contributing their own voices and experiences, they help prospective students better understand what to expect and why studying here is worth it.

Being a student ambassador let’s me connect with new students and share my experiences. It’s a great way to help others while also growing as a person.

While Centria has had had domestic Ambassadors promoting its Finnish-language programmes for years, we are now proud to invite international students to take the stage as well. The International Student Ambassadors will also participate in events in Finland alongside their Finnish-programme counterparts, helping us share the international spirit of Centria while offering new opportunities for cultural exchange and connection.

The Ambassadors work closely with the EduExpo team and the Admissions Office. Local upper secondary schools may also invite them to introduce Centria’s degree programmes and share their personal study experiences with potential future students.

Centria’s goal is to create a more seamless and supportive experience for international students—not only during the first days but throughout their time with us. We believe this approach will not only benefit our students but also strengthen the Centria community as a whole.
