Work and practical training opportunities for students

Through Finnorse, you can apply for summer positions with a Norwegian employer and Norwegian hospitals. They are ready to hire Finnish healthcare students for 1–2‑month contracts. The requirement is to be a first- or second‑year healthcare student. Previous work experience in the field is a clear advantage, as well as a reasonable level of Scandinavian language skills.

The workplaces are located in hospitals and elderly care facilities. The Norwegian employer’s hourly wage offer varies between 231 and 280 NOK (approximately €21–25 per hour). Travel costs from Finland to Norway and accommodation in Norway are covered by the employer.

Gain practical experience in international business, recruitment, and regional development

Are you an international Business student looking for a meaningful internship where you can gain hands-on experience, contribute to real development activities, and learn more about working life in Finland?

NIHAK is looking for an international business student to join the WELCOME Project for an 8-week internship during Autumn 2026 (or Spring 2027 if needed).

Located in Nivala, in the southern part of Northern Ostrobothnia, this internship offers an opportunity to explore business development and cooperation with companies in a supportive and guided environment.

Why This Internship?

This internship provides an opportunity to:

• gain practical experience connected to Business studies
• learn about international recruitment, business cooperation, and working life in Finland
• work with local companies and development organizations
• develop communication, project, and intercultural collaboration skills
• contribute your own ideas and perspectives in a real working environment
• build professional experience relevant to future international careers
• You will receive guidance and mentoring throughout the internship, and no previous experience in regional development is required.

Possible Internship Themes and Learning Opportunities

Depending on your study phase, internship requirements, interests, and learning goals, the internship content can be adapted to support your studies and professional development.

During the internship, you may participate in one or more of the following themes:

• learning how companies welcome and integrate international employees and supporting related activities
• participating in employer peer-learning activities and discussions related to international recruitment
• contributing to the development of multilingual and visual workplace communication and safety materials (e.g., guides, translated materials, videos)
• supporting the planning of workplace mentoring practices together with educational partners, such as JEDU vocational education institute
• participating in activities that help companies connect with international students and recruitment support services
• helping identify workplace language and communication needs in English and Finnish
• supporting communication and development activities related to international working life, inclusion, and business cooperation

You are also encouraged to contribute your own ideas and interests to shape the internship experience.

Description:

coLanguage.com is an online language school with its own language learning application combined with conversation classes.

Tasks:

• Design learning videos using AI tools
• Create exercises and learning materials
• Develop rich media content (images, videos, audio) for language learning
• Assist in syllabus and curriculum development
• Design cultural materials

Requirements:

• Currently studying linguistics, preferably in a teaching, translation or pedagogics degree during your master or final bachelor year.
• Must complete a mandatory internship and you can apply for an Erasmus+ internship.
