More information on the programme
The scope of the studies is 60 ECTS, and the planned duration is 1 academic year. The studies consist of profiling studies, optional studies and the Master’s thesis. The courses are conducted in English and organised in a blended learning format, which is more flexible to combine with working life, as it includes less contact teaching than daytime studies.
During the degree, multimodal learning methods are used. The learning process consists of lectures, independent work, distance learning assignments and development projects. In addition, independent distance studies in the student’s own time are required.
Studies start in the end of August with orientation, which requires on-campus attendance. Teaching will take place either on-campus or online. One cannot participate from home or from one’s own computer without a justified and approved reason. Teaching will take place between 10 am and 8 pm, around 2-3 times a month.
The study environment in Centria is very international, providing great opportunities to improve and practice your language skills, or to learn about new cultures and habits. In addition to this, exchange possibilities are available also on Master’s level to attend a semester at one of our 130 partner institutions abroad.
The Master’s thesis is a development project, which is a combination of theory and practice. It is a highly important, integral part of the degree, and you will get a chance to start planning it from the early stages of your studies. This project aims to develop your ability to find new research information and apply it in your thesis work. It will help you gain the expertise you need in challenging managerial positions.
The scope of the thesis is 30 ECTS. You can find Master’s theses written by our students on www.theseus.fi.
Most of our students work full-time already during their studies. By completing the Master’s Degree programme, you have the possibility to proceed towards more demanding tasks. Our graduates work in various positions as directors, project managers, or in other managerial positions in the field of IT. After graduation, you can also apply for PhD studies in Finland or abroad.
Please notice that some applicants are obligated to pay tuition fees. If you are not an EU/EEA citizen or if you do not have a document that exempts you from paying the tuition fees, you are obliged to pay them.
