National Career Monitoring Survey Launches on 7 October 2026
The national Career Monitoring Survey for Universities of Applied Sciences will launch on 7 October 2026. The survey gathers information on graduates’ employment, career development, competencies required in working life, and how well UAS studies have met the needs of the labour market.
The Career Monitoring Survey provides universities of applied sciences with unique insights into the impact and labour market relevance of education. The results are used to develop education, student guidance, quality management, and cooperation with employers. At the same time, they provide valuable information to support education policy development.
Working life is changing rapidly. Artificial intelligence, digitalisation, sustainability requirements, and new ways of working are continuously reshaping competency needs. Five years after graduation, alumni are well positioned to assess how their studies have supported their careers, what skills are genuinely needed in working life, and what kinds of capabilities future professionals are expected to have.
The Career Monitoring Survey has established itself as one of the most important tools for evaluating the impact of universities of applied sciences. Previous survey rounds have produced extensive data on graduates’ career paths, skills development, and changes in working life. The results help universities develop education that better meets the needs of students, employers, and society. Every response contributes to a deeper understanding of the value of higher education in working life and helps build an even more impactful higher education system for the future.
The survey will be sent on 7 October to all graduates who completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at a Finnish university of applied sciences in 2021. The survey is conducted jointly by the universities of applied sciences and CSC – IT Center for Science Ltd.
Every response is valuable and has a concrete impact on the development of education for future students.
Centria University of Applied Sciences encourages all alumni who graduated in 2021 to respond to the Career Monitoring Survey. Graduates’ experiences of employment, career development, and the relevance of their studies to working life are an important part of the continuous development of education. The responses help Centria ensure that its degree programmes meet the evolving competence needs of working life and support students’ smooth transition into employment. Every response is valuable and has a concrete impact on the development of education for future students.
