About the project
Attractive Worklife strengthens retention in Ostrobothnia by supporting both employers and the international workforce. Many companies struggle to find the right skills, while many international jobseekers find it difficult to enter the labour market. The project aims to make better use of existing competence and to make it easier for people whose mother tongue is neither Swedish nor Finnish to gain a foothold in working life.
A central theme of the project is employer-ability – employers’ capacity to attract, recruit and retain employees with an international background. This involves creating a workplace culture where people from diverse backgrounds feel welcome, thrive and choose to stay. To support this, the project provides tools, networks and guidance to develop recruitment processes, language support and inclusive leadership, and to build workplaces where diversity is seen as a strength.
To support the integration of the whole family, a spouse programme will be launched for accompanying partners. Through community-building, study visits and networking, new pathways into working life and society are created. The project consists of five work packages and brings together employers, international employees and other partners in a joint effort. The long-term goal is to ensure that more people want to and are able to stay, that workplaces become better at leveraging diversity, and that Ostrobothnia is well equipped for the future.
