The DigiBiogasHubs project aims to develop and pilot a system-level solution based on a digital platform and tools to facilitate the development and interaction of biogas hubs in different regions and the development of biogas markets.
The project will be implemented in the three regions of Ostrobothnia, South Ostrobothnia and Central Ostrobothnia. The primary target groups of the project are feedstock/biomass users and producers, biogas producers and distributors, existing and potential biogas users, logistics operators and technical solution providers in the region.
THE CONCRETE RESULTS OF THE PROJECT ARE:
- The concept of the digital platform and the piloting of the platform and selected platform services
- A cooperation and interaction model, platform service descriptions and an operational model for the platform
- Analytical descriptions of three biogas hubs with different profiles and synergy analysis between them
- Process model for the development of biogas hubs and toolbox of analytical methods
- Analysis of legal constraints and policy overview
The results of the project are expected to support and accelerate the development and growth of the biogas market and regional biogas ecosystems, reduce regional carbon emissions and waste, increase the amount of renewable energy in the energy system and improve regional energy independence and security of supply. The project will also create new knowledge for regional actors about the potential of biogas.
