Centria participates in the Down A Degree campaign

Centria University of Applied Sciences takes part in the Down A Degree campaign, organised by Motiva, which encourages Finnish organisations and individuals to look at their own energy use and take energy-saving actions. The campaign aims to achieve permanently lower energy consumption.

Centria is committed to the campaign with concrete measures. The temperature inside all our campuses has been lowered by one degree, and the hot water temperature will be lowered from 58 degrees to 55 degrees. Travelling of staff is treated with discretion on a case-by-case basis.

Centria’s student union Copsa will campaign during autumn, particularly on TikTok, by releasing videos that encourage students to save energy.

The campaign launched on 10 October, continuing throughout the heating season. On Centria campuses and social media, the campaign will be featured throughout the campaign period.

The campaign is organized by Motiva, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland, the Ministry of the Environment, the Prime Minister’s Office and the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra. Hundreds of Finnish organizations, municipalities, educational institutions, housing associations and individuals are involved in the campaign.
