Centria’s autumn concert season once again delights with its diversity

Centria University of Applied Sciences’ music degree programme once again offers music lovers in Kokkola a diverse selection of free concerts throughout the autumn. As usual, the concerts will mainly take place on Thursdays at 7 p.m. in the Fordell Hall at the Snellman Music Centre.

The national Career Monitoring Survey for Universities of Applied Sciences will launch on 7 October 2026. The survey gathers information on graduates’ employment, career development, competencies required in working life, and how well UAS studies have met the needs of the labour market.

New Pilot Connects International Talent with Companies in Central Ostrobothnia

A growing demand for skilled professionals among companies in Central Ostrobothnia and the employment challenges faced by highly educated international graduates are being addressed in a new pilot initiative launched by Centria University of Applied Sciences and the Central Ostrobothnia Employment Area. The pilot offers international recent graduates an opportunity to enter positions that match their education while helping companies gain practical experience of working with international talent.

Living Heritage Strengthens the Foundation of Kokkola’s City of Music Application 

Kokkola is preparing an application to join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of Music in the 2027 application cycle. From the perspective of Centria’s Living Heritage research group, one of the region’s key strengths underpinning the application is living musical heritage – participatory and communal music-making that is passed down from one generation to the next while continuously evolving.
