Programme description

The Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Analytics at Centria University of Applied Sciences is designed to help you shape your future in global business through data-driven expertise. This programme prepares you to succeed in a world where data plays a central role in decision-making. By combining business knowledge with analytical and technological skills, you will learn how to understand, predict, and improve business performance in modern organisations.

A key strength of the programme is its strong focus on business analytics. You will learn how to transform raw data into meaningful insights that support strategic decisions and drive business growth. The curriculum is carefully designed to ensure that you develop both analytical thinking and practical skills that are highly valued in data-driven business environments.

The programme emphasises hands-on, practical learning. You will work on real-life projects and use modern analytics tools and business technologies that reflect current industry practices. This practical approach allows you to apply your knowledge in realistic contexts and build skills that are directly transferable to the workplace. No previous experience in analytics or business is required, as the studies begin with the basics and gradually develop your competence step by step.

Centria provides an international study environment where you will learn alongside students from over 40 nationalities. This diverse setting enhances your intercultural communication skills and prepares you for global career opportunities, helping you understand how business and data are used across different markets and cultures.

During your studies, you will build a strong foundation in business combined with analytical expertise. You will learn about business analytics and data-driven decision-making, as well as business intelligence and data visualisation. Your studies will also include databases and SQL, business process modelling and development, and the fundamentals of programming and IT systems. In addition, you will explore core business subjects such as economics, accounting, and strategic management, along with human resource management and organisational development. This combination ensures that you graduate with both technical and business capabilities.

The programme also offers valuable real-world experience. You will participate in company visits and attend guest lectures from industry experts, gaining insights into current business challenges and solutions. You will also have opportunities to apply analytics in real business cases and take part in research, development, and innovation (RDI) projects. Along the way, you will strengthen essential soft skills, including teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.

With strong analytical skills and a solid business foundation, graduates of this programme have a wide range of career opportunities. You may pursue roles such as business analyst, data analyst or reporting specialist, business intelligence specialist, process development specialist, or consultant and project manager. These roles are in high demand across industries where organisations increasingly rely on data to guide their decisions.

The study format is designed to support structured and effective learning. The programme is delivered in English and follows a daytime schedule. On-campus classes are typically held from Monday to Thursday, creating a consistent weekly rhythm. In addition, some optional courses are offered in a flexible hyflex format, allowing you to combine on-campus and online participation when needed. This structured approach helps you stay engaged and focused throughout your studies.
