Keynote speaker: Miapetra Kumpula-Natri – A member of the European Parliament

Miapetras topic is “How does digitalization strategy empower the companies and citizens of Europe and make Europe a safer place in regards of cybersecurity today and in the future?”

Miapetra Kumpula-Natri is a Member of the European Parliament since 2014. She is eager to promote European digitalization and human rights. Miapetra aims to find solutions to restrain climate change and to enable sustainable economic growth. She advocates for more investments in research, know-how and fair working conditions in the European Union. 

Miapetra takes special interest in digitalization, data economy, and artificial intelligence. She is a member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) and Vice chair for the Delegation for relations with the United State (D-US).

Panel discussion:

Projects coordinators of 3 different EU-funded projects will discuss about “How do EU-funded projects empower the citizens and companies in Europe? How do the results of our efforts impact on the daily life of a European citizen? How to make the capability of our projects visible?”

Andrea Saracino (Ph.D 2015) is a researcher in Computer Security at IIT-CNR in Pisa, Italy.

Johan Lugnet, Associate Professor within Information Security at Luleå University of Technology, Sweden.

Leena Toivanen (MBA) is an RDI-coordinator and project manager in Centria University of Applied Sciences.


The event is hosted by the SIFIS-Home project, funded by European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the grant agreement Nº 952652. In collaboration with the ISSUES an Interreg Aurora project, and with DistanceLab an Interreg BSR project, co-funded by the European Union.
